Rajasthan Royals (RR) have suffered an attack on their spin attack following the announcement the team’s captain Adam Zampa has withdrawn from playing in the coming IPL season.

Why Adam Zampa decided to withdraw from IPL 2024

Zampa who was signed by the Royals prior to the auction of players in December of last year, has told his team that Zampa will not playing in IPL 2024. The decision is made just one day before the event begins in Chennai.

Zampa’s departure requires adjustments to the Royals bowling strategy. The team may have to depend more in Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal, or look into alternatives among the remaining spinners.

Why did Adam Zampa withdraw his name from IPL 2024?

Zampa’s manager has confirmed the news to ESPNcricinfo his client’s manager that Australian cricketer’s decision is based on the desire to focus on his family of young children. Zampa has also had to deal with a busy schedule in recent months, playing in the Big Bash League (BBL) for Melbourne Stars followed by white-ball series against India, West Indies and New Zealand.
